At Swan Apothecary, we take this day to reflect on the remarkable women who have paved the way for generations, especially those whose legacies transcend time and continue to guide us today.

One such woman, deeply admired by our founder Robin Swan, is Khadijah bint Khuwaylid—a woman of profound strength, intelligence, and generosity. As the wife of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), Khadijah was not only a devoted partner but also a successful entrepreneur, a compassionate leader, and a beacon of faith and empowerment.

Khadijah was a self-made businesswoman who built a thriving trade empire in a time when women had limited opportunities. Her intellect and business acumen earned her the title of “The Pure One.” She defied societal norms, led with grace, and became a symbol of independent success. She believed in Muhammad’s vision before the world did, offering her unwavering support, wisdom, and love. Her faith, determination, and generosity continue to serve as an inspiration for women everywhere.

Robin, as a mother to daughters, understands firsthand the power of raising strong, compassionate and fearless women.

In Loving Memory: Honoring Those We’ve Lost

This year, as we celebrate the beauty and strength of women, we also take a moment to remember those we have lost. Robin recently lost a dear friend, Corrie Yelland, whose impact and presence will never be forgotten. Additionally, the anniversary of her beloved sister Allison’s passing serves as a heartfelt reminder of the deep love, strength and inspiration that women leave behind. Their spirits continue to guide us, and today, we honor them with gratitude and love.

Women are the healers, the protectors, and the architects of love and progress. As we honor Khadijah, we also celebrate the women in our lives—our mothers, sisters, friends and mentors.
